RESEARCH: THE CONVENTIONS OF AN OPENING SEQUENCE

Here is a short presentation done on prezi, describing the different conventions in an opening
sequence and why they are so crucial in a film:

From all the conventions, I feel like the title sequence, production company, protagonist/antagonist and the sound are the most important for my opening sequence. This is because my film's genre is psychological horror and sound plays an important role in any horror genre. It helps engage the audience and keeps them on edge. The protagonist needs to be introduced within these two minutes since the viewers need someone to relate to.
